Atalanta head coach Edy Reja has admitted that there is an extra incentive for him to beat Roma on Sunday, having spent time as boss of arch-rivals Lazio.

Reja has only been in his current role at the Bergamo outfit since replacing the dismissed Stefano Colantuono in March, when the club were just three points clear off the relegation zone and ahead of his side’s trip to Rome the tactician has revealed he wants to win more than usual.

“It’s logical there will be more emotions and an extra motivation [for me],” the 69-year-old told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“I can’t forget my four years in Rome and I have received a number of messages from my Lazio friends asking me to deliver a strong performance.

“We must put in a good showing, especially for Atalanta, we need the points.

“To get a result at the Stadio Olimpico we can’t afford to miss anything, we have to go with the mentality to play our game and we have to take advantage when they give us space.”
