Roma defender Kostas Manolas will reportedly turn down a move to the Premier League this summer in order to continue with the capital city club.

The 23-year-old only just arrived at the Giallorossi from Olympiacos in August 2014 for an estimated fee of around €15 million, but has already attracted the attention of several outside clubs as of late including Premier League giants Arsenal.

According to Rome edition of the Corriere della Sera, the Greek international would favour a stay at Roma as he could be one of the Italian club’s key defenders during the 2015-16 season, with coach Rudi Garcia apparently looking to build around his qualities as a centre back as he searches for new fullbacks.

His agent, however, has recently refused to rule out a possible move to England in the coming months despite reports suggesting that he would prefer to stay in Italy.

The defender, whose current deal with Roma is set to expire in June 2019, has made 24 Serie A appearances this term thus far.
