Roma striker Victor Ibarbo could replace the injured Gervinho in Rudi Garcia’s line-up for Saturday’s big match against Napoli.

The 24-year-old second striker arrived in the capital during the January transfer window from Cagliari on a €2.5 million loan deal with a buy-out option set at €12.5 million, but has been on the Giallorossi injury list with a muscle injury for the past two months since making his first appearence against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, the Colombian international could start against Napoli on Saturday, fighting for a starting spot with newly arrived Seydou Doumbia.

Since the buy-out option set in Ibarbo’s contract is not obligatory, the player will have to convince Roma to buy him out from the Sardinian club and he will presumably have his first opportunity to prove himself in this weekend’s Serie A clash against the Partenopei.
