Impressive young centre back Daniele Rugani has been linked to a sensational move to Arsenal in the English Premier League.

The on-loan Empoli defender, owned by giants Juventus, has been at the heart of the Tuscan club’s incredible season as the minnows already look likely to avoid a drop back into Serie B. The Azzurri sit in 15th place and are 11 points clear of the drop zone with eight games remaining.

According to SportItalia, the Bianconeri hope to allow Rugani another season with current coach Maurizio Sarri to continue his development into one of the most exciting Italian defenders since the likes of Alessandro Nesta and Fabio Cannavaro.

However, the report also suggests that Arsenal, who have a track record of purchasing young and talented players, may make a €15 million bid to tempt the 20-year-old away from Serie A.

Incredibly, Rugani has made 30 league appearances so far this season for Empoli and has yet to be booked or sent off.
