Sinisa Mihajlovic SampdoriaSampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic could be facing future employers when his team meet Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo in Serie A on Sunday.

Current Partenopei supremo Rafa Benitez appears to be heading closer to the exit door as his contract nears its expiry this summer, with Blucerchiati boss Mihajlovic reportedly set to be offered the role.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Benitez will leave the San Paolo despite his side’s significant achievement of reaching the Europa League semi-finals.

The newspaper states his decision to move on was made sometime ago and that desire has only been strengthened by president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ unpopular insistence on imposing the club’s recent training retreat. It’s alleged the pair have not spoken for weeks and their only contact during that awkward period has been via text message.

Meanwhile, Serb Mihajlovic is expected to inform Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero of his intention to quit at the end of this season following tonight’s crucial contest.
