A Sinisa Mihajlovic press conference is always entertaining with his latest offering ahead of their game against Hellas Verona proving no different.

He may have the likes of Stefano Okaka and Roberto Soriano at his disposal but he wants them to show the mentality of a Novak Djokovic or Andy Murray, citing the character of tennis players as being ones he wants from his players.

The former Fiorentina boss said: “We need to be as tennis players where we are focusing only on the next points we gain rather than the ones that we have just lost while of course getting the best out of our training sessions, just how tennis players do when using their tennis rackets.

“We have not played to the levels that we can lately but a losing team will always make excuses and we need to get back on the winning road. I do not think we have to look for any major reasons as to our drop in the rankings.”

If they are to get back to winning ways, the Blucerchiati will have to do so without Eder who is out with injury and Mihajlovic acknowledges how big a miss he will be.

“We lost a lot without him because he is an important player,” admitted the Serbian. “But his absence allows us to try different solutions. We feel sorry for him and us but we hope to have him back as soon as possible.

“Luis Muriel will have to take some responsibility, even beyond the absence of Eder, because he is a player of enormous quality and there is great room for improvement from him.”
