Djamel Mesbah spoke after Sampdoria’s 0-0 draw against Cesena, disappointed that his team were not able to take all three points on Saturday.

Sampdoria dominated the game and had plenty opportunities to open the scoring against Cesena; unfortunately Samp were unable to find a way past a staunch Cesena defence.

Mesbah spoke after the game, bemoaning his team’s wastefulness in front of goal.

“Today we had several chances to score and we are disappointed that we could not get a goal,” Mesbah said to Sky Sport Italia.

“It is too bad but we also found a very good Cesena and must congratulate them.

“It was strange not to have scored because collectively we performed well.

“But now we prepare for the next match against Napoli and keep believing in Europe. Not to qualify at this point would be a shame.”
