vivianoSampdoria goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano admits his howler in the 4-2 defeat at Napoli helped start the Partenopei’s comeback from a goal down to win at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday.

The Blucerchiati had taken a 13th minute lead after Raul Albiol scored an own goal, before the on-loan shot-stopper from Palermo was embarrassed as a deflected Manolo Gabbiadini shot squirmed through his legs.

“We got the goal, then there was my mistake that handed the game to Napoli,” the 29-year-old told Mediaset Premium after the match.

“It was easier for the Azzurri after that and subsequently we conceded too many goals.

“Last Saturday against Cesena we were unable to get a goal, now we need to get back to work for the match on Wednesday.”

Sampdoria have only secured two points from their last four Serie A matches and host Hellas Verona at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris next on Wednesday evening.
