Eder - Sampdoria v SassuoloItalian international Eder is worried that the injury which forced him off in last night’s match away to Napoli might be quite serious, as he awaits the results of tests today.

The Brazilian-born forward clashed knees in the 44th minute of the first half with a rival defender and was replaced by Luis Muriel, as his side went on to lose 4-2 at the San Paolo.

“I don’t have a good feeling about this,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “My knee is really painful and I can feel it throbbing.”

The Blucerchiati had taken an early lead against the Partenopei on Sunday evening, but a brace from Gonzalo Higuain and a fantastic solo effort from Lorenzo Insigne helped the home side to a convincing victory.

Eder made his debut for the Italian national team last month amidst controversy regarding the call-up of ‘Oriundi’ or foreign-born eligible players.
