Round 30 of the Serie A season saw crisis club Parma record a shock victory over Juventus.

Lazio surged into second place after thrashing Empoli 4-0 and city neighbours Roma drew with Torino.

Inter and Napoli won 3-0 each against Verona and Fiorentina respectively and AC Milan shared the spoils with Sampdoria in a score draw.

The formation chosen for the Team of The Week is 4-2-3-1 with Parma prodigy Jose Mauri and Inter’s Gary Medal sitting in front of the defence and Miroslav Klose leading the line in attack.

Do you agree with our choices? As ever feel free to leave a comment if you think we have overlooked anyone.

Samir Handanovic – Inter (2 Team of The Week appearances)

Kept a clean sheet and saved Luca Toni’s penalty in the second half, his seventh save from the spot from the last eight he has faced.  In total he has now made twenty-one stops from penalties in Serie A. A remarkable record.

Team of the Week 30Luis Cavanda – Lazio (2 apps)

A powerful outlet down the right flank. The Belgian had little to do defensively so was free to concentrate on the offensive side of his game.  Two of his crosses led to goals and he linked up superbly with Antonio Candreva all match.

Facundo Roncaglia – Genoa

Did well to minimise the threat posed by Cagliari forward JosemM’Poko and also provided an assist for M’Baye Niang in the second half.

Fabiano Santacroce – Parma

The Brazilian born Italian gave everything as Parma recorded a shock win over leaders Juventus. Won countless aerial balls and made several crucial interceptions, ensuring Fernando Llorente and the rest of the Bianconeri attack endured a frustrating afternoon.

Ervin Zukanovic – Chievo

The perfect full back performance from the Bosnian. Completed his defensive duties superbly and attacked down the left flank whenever possible, whipping in countless dangerous crosses into the box.

Jose Mauri – Parma (3 apps)

The teenager rightly made all the headlines after scoring the winner against Juventus. Aside from his goal the midfielder was excellent in tracking the runs of the opposing Bianconeri players and winning the ball cleanly. Left the field to a standing ovation in the final minutes of the match.

Gary Medal – Inter

Read the game superbly in his side’s encounter with Verona. Displayed excellent positional sense and awareness to protect his back four and make the necessary interceptions. Is also more accomplished on the ball than people sometimes give him credit for.

Diego Perotti – Genoa (3 apps)

The Argentine was on top form against Cagliari, running effortlessly at speed at opposing defenders and forming a dangerous front three with Iago Falque and M’Baye Niang.

Hernanes – Inter (4 apps)

Finally a performance of note from the gifted playmaker. The Brazilian gave one of his best displays in an Inter shirt, evading opposing challenges with ease and was heavily involved in the creation of his side’s first two goals.

Dries Mertens – Napoli (2 apps)

The Azzurri’s standout player in the first half as the Partenopei easily disposed of Fiorentina on Sunday . Opened the scoring with s rasping effort and kept his side on the front foot with his direct running and runs in behind the defence.

Miroslav Klose – Lazio

There may have not been any moments of brilliance or outrageous skill but none the less it was still a textbook centre forwards display from the veteran. Showed quick instincts to beat his marker and head in Luis Cavanda’s cross before turning provider for Felipe Anderson late on
