Inter midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri professed his confidence coach Roberto Mancini will grant him a starting place ahead of Sunday night’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.
The former Bayern Munich man was one of Mancini’s first signings upon his return to the Nerazzurri bench in November, and has scored one goal in 10 appearances since signing a four-year contract in January.
“Mancini has the last word, but I expect to start, ” Shaqiri said in a pre-match press conference.
“We have a great will to win and I expect a special atmosphere with a packed stadium.
“We want to win this derby, it’s so important to our fans and we want to gift them all three points.”
The Nerazzurri currently sit in 10th, with 41 points to their name.
