FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio has reiterated his feeling that Parma should be able to finish the Serie A season.

The Ducali have been crippled by debt and almost certain to face relegation after a further points deduction during the week.

However, Tavecchio admitted to the Gazzetta Dello Sport that he hopes Roberto Donadoni’s side can continue.

“I want Parma to reach the end of the season,” Tavecchio explained.

“Why ask for the debts now and not on May 31st?”

Tavecchio also spoke out against the rash of incidents involving fans that have flared up in the last few weeks.

“I hope they leave us in peace until the end of the season. However, I do not think it is enough to ban the banners. We must punish [those responsible] severely.”

Roma fans have recently unveiled banners condemning the mother of a Napoli fan who was shot and killed and, when criticised by James Pallotta, positioned a banner near the training ground directed at the club’s president.
