James Pallotta RomaThe increasing tension between Roma fans and club president James Pallotta was evident once again when yet another banner was revealed insulting the American.

The relationship between the two parties has come under recent strain and the fans have now fuelled the verbal battle further.

A banner was revealed within the city that read “Execute Pallotta” in reaction to the president’s recent derogatory comments made about the fans.

This fraught relationship began after an an incident during Roma’s recent 1-0 victory over Napoli when insulting banners were directed towards the mother of a Napoli fan (Ciro Esposito) who was killed prior to last seasons Coppa Italia final.

In reaction to this unsavoury event, Pallotta labelled the culprits as idiots and distanced the club from them, which has since angered various sections of the Roma fans.

For the Giallorossi’s upcoming match against Atalanta, the Curva Sud will be closed as punishment and a protest has now been arranged by Roma ultras as a means of voicing their opinions.

The ultras made a recent statement that referred to the protest as well as Pallotta’s comments: “At one o’clock on Sunday we will be outside the stadium to make our voices heard. Anyone who does not feel like a f***ing idiot will be accepted.”
