Rafael Benitez NapoliNapoli coach Rafa Benitez is focussing on the positives during a tough run of form for the Partenopei ahead of their crucial Coppa Italia semi-final second leg with Lazio.

A Manolo Gabbiadini equaliser in the first leg in Rome means the tie is level at 1-1 ahead of Wednesday’s game at the Sao Paolo, but Napoli’s poor form in Serie A has dropped Benitez’s side down to sixth-placed.

“The attitude of the team after Roma and Atalanta is positive but we deserved more. I am not 100 per cent happy but at least the team is creating so much,” he stated at his pre-match press conference.

“We have to think about winning to be sure of going through. Lazio create many chances but that can make them vulnerable, so we must take advantage and not allow them too much space.”

The Neapolitans have an excellent record in the Coppa in recent years and are current holders ahead of a semi-final that Benitez will need a fully fit squad for.

“[Lorenzo] Insigne is working well in training and will soon by 100 per cent fit, [Juan] Zuniga is improving but unlikely to start – as is [Walter] Gargano who needs to return to full match fitness.”
