Following Italy’s 1-1 draw against England, Azzurri midfielder Franco Vazquez has expressed his pride at his decision to choose Italy, following his international debut in Tuesday’s friendly.
The Argentine born player’s inclusion has caused recent controversy however he believes in his heart that he has made the correct choice.
“I chose Italy with my heart,” said Vazquez to Rai Sport.
“I have thought about it a lot and I believe that I have made the correct decision.”
The Palermo player has also been quizzed about his experience since his arrival into the squad and has spoken about his new coach Antonio Conte.
“I have integrated well into the squad and I hope it will always be like this,” Vazquez said.
“As for Conte, he is very similar to [Palermo coach Giuseppe] Iachini.”
