Werder Bremen defender Luca Caldirola admits he is keen on a return to the Serie A in the summer.
The 24-year-old Italian youth international was an ever-present in his debut season in the Bundesliga last season after joining from Inter, but has struggled for game-time this campaign.
“Last season was my first in the Bundesliga, and I racked up 33 appearances. I think I re-payed the expectations of the club and the supporters,” Caldirola told Tuttomercatoweb.
“This season has been a bit more complicated. We had some difficulties at the beginning, and then there was a change of manager. I have to respect the choices of the manager.
“I was close to a return to Italy in the winter, but a move did not materialize, also because the market in January is more complex than in the summer.
“I know the Italian league well, I still follow it from Germany. A return to the Serie A would be one of the options that I would consider with great interest.”
