Ivan PerisicWolfsburg midfielder Ivan Perisic has refused to rule out a move to Napoli after Thursday night’s 2-2 draw in the Stadio San Paolo sent the Partenopei through to the Europa League semi-finals.

Napoli will now face Dnipro in the semi-finals and could set-up an all Italian semi-final if Fiorentina can progress past current Europa League holders Sevilla in the other tie.

The Croatian midfielder admitted that Wolfsburg played well but had ultimately left themselves too much work to do after a 4-1 first-leg defeat in Germany.

“We played a very good game, but it was not enough,” the 26-year old told Radio Kiss Kiss

“The first leg of the tie cost us and that’s why we’re out of the Cup.”

Perisic also said that he believes Napoli are one of the favourites to eventually win the tournament.

“I think Napoli and Sevilla are the favourites to lift the trophy, they play good football.

“But I think the Azzurri have something more and I think they can get to the final and win.”

However, the Croatian could one day be returning to the Stadio San Paolo as he refused to rule out a move to Naples.

He said: “Naples is similar to Split- my hometown- and they are a great team.

“I still have two years of my contract in Germany and I’m happy.

“But, in football never say never to a transfer to Napoli because things can change quickly.”
