Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that he expects Paulo Dybala’s summer transfer away from Sicily to be finalised by the end of the month while also disclosing the identity of the club’s currently jostling to secure the Argentine starlet’s signature.

Following a breakout season in Serie A, 21-year-old forward is certain to be sold by the Rosanero at the end of the current term as Zamparini continues his policy of unearthing young talent before selling them on to Europe’s largest clubs at great profit.

“Juventus are in the lead, but now Roma have also stepped up their negotiations,” explained the 73-year-old businessman.

“Outside of Italy there is other interest, but Dybala will not be sold at a figure less than €40 million euro. I make this clear as I would not want to see Juve having to relive the situation which occurred with [Javier] Pastore when their bid was soundly beaten by others that could offer more money, which is what happened when I sold the Argentine to Paris Saint-Germain.

“The situation is simple. I will try to earn as much as possible from the sale of Dybala while prospective buyers will try to pay as little as possible.

“[Pierpaolo] Triulzi, the agent of the boy, is travelling on a mission between Paris and London to assess proposals from PSG and Arsenal. But there is also interest from Liverpool. After he is finished we will evaluate the situation and speak to [Giuseppe] Marotta again. Who knows if it will improve his offer? One thing is certain: by the end of April, Dybala will be sold.”

“Roma? They do like Dybala, but the Giallorossi have some money problems [with FFP].”

Dybala has scored 13 goals in 29 Serie A appearances for Palermo this season.
