AC Milan’s coach Filippo Inzaghi is aware that the club are search for his successor.

Inzaghi has had a difficult first season at Milan, with his side failing to qualify for Europe and there are growing rumours that Ancelotti will return to Milan

“It is normal that a club like Milan look around for coaches at the end of the season,” Inzaghi told Mediaset Premium.

“Ancelotti made history at this club, he is a legend.

“I am not sure that Real Madrid will sack the coach that brought them their tenth European title only 12 months ago.

“I am coach of AC Milan and I want to be here at the start of next season.

“I have a contract with a year left, so my only focus is on our final match of the season against Atalanta.

“If Milan want to talk to me then I am ready for negotiations with the club. I have clear ideas for the future of the team.

“I see the foundations of a good team here. I do not think things are as bad here as some people suggest.

“Although it will take a lot of work to fix. Nobody has a magic wand that will solve the issues at the club.

“I have made mistakes this season but even the most experienced coaches make errors.

“The main regret of the season are the injures that we have suffered.

“The likes of Montolivio, De Sciglio and El Shaarawy have miss vast chucks of the campaign which has made things very difficult for the team.”
