AC Milan’s Adil Rami has quashed rumours of a rift developing between himself and head coach Filippo Inzaghi ahead of Sunday night’s game against Napoli.

The French defender put in a poor performance in their midweek humbling at the hands of Genoa and has been left out of the squad for the trip to Napoli after he allegedly had an argument with the head coach, however Rami took to Twitter to deny the accusations stating that he is injured.

“Hello guys, it’s a difficult time for all of us, and I apologise to all the fans,” Rami wrote on Twitter. “I’d like to say that the rumours spreading about me are false, I am suffering from a goin injury.”

The 29-year-old has struggled to establish himself in the Milan starting 11, playing out of position as a right back on several occasions.
