Stephan El Shaarawy reflected on his positive return from injury to the pitch with AC Milan, where he scored a brace in the 3-0 thumping of Torino at the Stadio Meazza on Sunday.

The 22-year-old made his 100th appearance as a substitute in AC Milan’s previous encounter with Sassuolo, and repaid the faith and compliments from the club by firing the Rossoneri to a convincing victory against Torino.

“For me it was a great satisfaction to return to scoring,” El Shaarawy said to Sky Sport Italia.

“There were difficult moments when I had to react. We started too well, then injuries have affected the season. These negative experiences make you grow.”

El Sharaawy continued with thoughts on carrying on strongly for the future after a difficult campaign.

“I’m glad with the spirit and determination that we had tonight, and we have to start from here,” El Shaarawy said.

“I thank the people who supported me and now I want to go on more motivated than before.”
