AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy has been honoured with a medal by the club after reaching 100 appearances for the club during last Sunday’s match against Sassuolo.

The 22-year-old, who has had his career derailed by injuries in recent seasons, was presented with the accolade on Saturday by Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani who gave his best wishes to the young starlet as he looks to return to full fitness.

“The latest to join the century club is Stephan El Shaarawy,” Galliani stated as reported by the club’s official website.

“Four seasons with Milan, 100 matches and Stephan could have played in more with fewer injuries.

“I remember the first match. It was September 2011, we won 1-0 against Napoli with a goal by [Alberto] Aquilani. The last match you played was against Sassuolo.

“I want to wish you best wishes from my heart. I am happy to give you this medal and I wish you fewer injuries, to move forward like you did in the first two seasons when you flew, when you were well.

“It’s incredible what has happened to you recently. Now you’ve paid your debt with bad luck and thus you will return to serenity, for you, for Milan and for everyone.

“Many compliments, many best wishes and we hope to give you many more medals.”
