destro mattia milanFilippo Inzaghi will be hoping that his stuttering AC Milan side can earn a win against Torino at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night in what is almost certain to be his last home game in charge of the fallen giants.

With the Rossoneri languishing in eleventh place in Serie A, Inzaghi is unlikely to last beyond the end of what has been a difficult first season as a head coach for the former forward.

Meanwhile, the Granata have had another solid season, albeit they have not quite reached the same levels of last season, and can guarantee a top half finish if they avoid defeat on Sunday.

Earlier in the season the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Olimpico with Kamil Glik’s late header cancelling out Jeremy Menez’s early penalty as Mattia De Sciglio was dismissed just after the break. Despite dominating last season’s corresponding fixture, the Rossoneri failed to overcome Toro as they once more played out a 1-1 draw.

Inzaghi will still be without the mercurial Menez, who is serving the last game of his suspension and will also be missing Giacomo Bonaventura and Suso who were both dismissed in their embarrassing defeat against Sassuolo. Stephan El Shaarawy could replace Bonaventura as Inzaghi is likely to show faith in the rest of his players and not make any unforced changes.

Giampiero Ventura is likely to recall Glik to the starting XI as Nikola Maksimovic serves a one match ban after picking his fourth yellow card of the season. Bruno Peres is set to return from his suspension and Giuseppe Vives is the man who could lose his place.
