Massimiliano Allegri JuventusJuventus coach Massimiliano Allegri insisted that his side must remain focused and work hard but not to the extent that they stress themselves out.

The Juve boss also reminded people that the meeting with Napoli on May 23 is not meaningless for his side as they look to maintain their unbeaten home record in Serie A.

“It’ll be an important game [against Napoli] as we look to improve our technical level and maintain our unbeaten home record,” said Allegri at the pre-match press conference.

“We need to maintain the right balance between training and matches to keep our players in the right condition.

“We can’t carry on until June 6 [date of the Champions League final] afraid of hurting ourselves, sometimes you have to a fatalist in life.

“After Juventus v Napoli, we will have three days off and we need them, then we’ll start preparing for the Champions League final against Barcelona.”

Allegri went on to speak more about the Champions League final.

“I don’t believe that inexperience will be a problem for us in the final, Juve has a certain character in the club’s DNA,” said Allegri.

“You can’t hope to only defend in these sort of games.

“I believe that it will be a difficult game but finals are different as you saw in the Coppa Italia win over Lazio.”

Allegri was also asked if he feels Barcelona will have more pressure on them and whether or not Juve’s fitness will be an advantage.

“In the next 15 days we have to work to get ourselves into top shape for Berlin, physically and mentally,” said Allegri.

“We need to be at a 150 per cent.

“Barcelona are used to competing and winning in this type of game.

“Positivity will be important, we need to face them with courage and not be in awe of them.

“However, we still need to think about the last games in the league, there’s still time before the final.”

Allegri also fielded questions about whether he will select a side similar to the one that beat Inter 2-1 away in Milan.

“Today, I’ll look at the team and see who is the most tired and needs a rest,” said Allegri.

“Prevention of injuries is fundamental.

“However, the team is doing well and they ran a lot in the Coppa Italia final right up until the end.

“[Stefano] Sturaro, [Claudio] Marchisio, [Alvaro] Morata and [Paul] Pogba didn’t play the entire game and there are lots of players available for the Napoli game.

“Some will be rested though.

“[Gianluigi] Buffon will start tomorrow.

“I’m very happy with what [Marco] Storari did in Milan and in Rome.

“He’s extraordinary and extremely reliable, the same goes for Rubinho even if he has never played.”

Finally, Allegri was reluctant to speak about transfer stories.

“I haven’t spoke with [Carlos] Tevez nor with [Andrea] Pirlo,” said Allegri.

“That’s because we just achieved one of our objectives by winning the Coppa Italia and I believe that was an extraordinary achievement.

“To speak about the transfer market now would be pointless.

“When you make the Champions League final it is normal that the appeal of the club grows to players.

“Players will want to stay here and others will want to come.

“This season we made the final but it won’t always be like that but we should always aim to make the quarter-finals.

“I don’t know how negotiations are going for [Paulo] Dybala but he’s a great player.”
