Fiorentina fullback Marcos Alonso has reassured fans he is set to remain at the club for next season.
The 24-year-old Spanish youth international’s form this season has been a real positive for the Viola, after struggling in his first year at the club last campaign – which lead him to being loaned out to Sunderland.
“Fourth place? Hopefully Napoli loses on Sunday and we win, I think we deserve it,” Alonso told Firenzeviola.it.
“There is some disappointment because after a great season we deserved to win a trophy.
“Will I remain at Fiorentina next season? Yes, I’ll rest here.”
Alonso made 34 appearances across all competitions, displacing club captain Manuel Pasqual in Vincenzo Montella’s preferred eleven this season.
