Daniele Baselli AtalantaAtalanta midfielder Daniele Baselli took pride in scoring a goal for his side despite their 3-1 loss to AC Milan, and looks to make further improvements in order to aid his team.

The home side remain without a win in three games after defeat to Milan, though took an early lead through Baselli who scored Atalanta’s only goal of the game with a strong header.

The Italian however refuses to dwell on the result, and instead has already set his sights on future targets.

“I was pleased to score in front of the home crowd even if it didn’t stand for much at the end of the game,” The 23-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“I hope to find continuity for next season.

“I always give my best in training but it’s the coach [Edoardo Reja] who makes the choices in the end.

“Though at the moment, in my head, I’m only thinking of the European Championships [with the U21s].
