AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has fuelled rumours he is ready to sell the Rossoneri after admitting he can no longer keep up with the financial demands of modern football.

With recent reports suggesting Berlusconi is deep in talks with several potential buyers, Bee Taechaubol being the most notable, the 78-year-old admitted he can no longer continue to fund the club with the necessary capital due to the current condition of the global economy.

“I’ve put a lot of money into Milan, can I say that?,” he stated while speaking to Napoli TV.

“€1.6 billion. Now, with how the economy and my businesses are going, it is not possible to continue in this direction.

“This is also because the capital necessary to remain competitive has increased due to the introduction of oil money.”
