AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura is satisfied with his personal performances for the Rossoneri, but admits he is searching for answers as to why his side has floundered in Serie A this season.

The 25-year-old joined the San Siro outfit from Atalanta in September 2014 for €7 million and has gone on to be a regular feature in Filippo Inzaghi’s team, scoring five league goals.

“I feel mature although I can improve but it was a good year after all, the group has welcomed me well,” said the Italian after receiving the Premio Gentleman award.

“I do not know what went wrong although it is certainly not one thing, but the club as a whole.”

Milan have just one win in seven ahead of their final games with Torino and Bonavetura’s old team Atalanta.

“[Atalanta] is a club in my heart,” Bonaventura said. “I lived there and grew as a player and a man, [Daniele] Baselli has significant potential and if he joins [Milan] it will be very nice.”
