Ahead of his side’s final fixture of the season, against Fiorentina, Chievo coach Rolando Maran has challenged his players to put in one final good performance.

Chievo travel to Florence on Sunday and whilst it has been a positive season, Maran is determined to end it on a high.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Maran stated, “We would like to finish well with a good performance against a strong team. I have had positive feedback from the team and the players, which is a great source pride for me.”

Maran was also pressed about how he rated his team over the course of the season.

“My Chievo side’s rating? It is definitely worth an eight on the report card!”

When questioned about the Capocannoniere award for the Serie A top goalscorer, Maran tipped Luca Toni to win, despite playing for bitter rivals Hellas Verona.

“I hope Luca Toni can win. His renovation has given me pride and a sense of responsibility.”
