AC Milan defender Mattia De Sciglio spoke of his determination to work hard and return to full fitness so that he can get back to his previous levels of form after the Rossoneri’s 3-1 win away at Atalanta.

The 22-year-old also insisted that he is not worried about returning to the Italy set-up at the moment as he only wants to find consistency with his club going into the 2015-16 Serie A season.

“I was hoping not to have all this physical problems, I need to get some continuous playing time but I was happy to return in time for this final game,” said De Sciglio to Sky Sport Italia.

The full-back was also reluctant to get ahead of himself when asked about the national team.

“I’m not thinking about it, I’m calm, focused and things will come about by themselves,” said De Sciglio.

“I’ll work my hardest as always and then things will go back to being how they were before.”

De Sciglio also responded to questions about whether he prefers to play as a right-back or a left-back.

“It’s certainly easier for me on the right in certain situations as that’s my stronger foot, however, I still feel good playing on the left.”
