Myron MarkevichDnipro coach Myron Markevich has expressed his delight after his side overcame visitors Napoli 1-0 in the second leg of the Europa League semi finals.

The Ukrainian side have reached their first European final after a second half header from Yevhen Seleznyov sealed the victory in a well fought game between both sides.

“There are so many emotions,” Markevich said. “I haven’t yet realised what we have accomplished.

“I’m only slowly beginning to come to terms with it.

“There were so many people who passed us off as potential finalists against a team as strong as Napoli, yet instead we managed it.

“I have the impression that our entire team had eaten raw meat before the game due to the way they played,” the coach said.

“This is a very important victory and in the final it would be even more so.

“Sevilla are a very strong side so we must prepare well. My players know what they will face a very difficult final, but now we are happy to have qualified for it.

“The fans were rooting for us and we couldn’t have played bad in front of them.”
