Roberto Donadoni spoke ahead of his Serie A clash against Cagliari, assuring Parma intends to end the season with dignity.

Parma, who were officially relegated following their midweek loss to Lazio, will host relegation-threatened Cagliari on Monday evening.

Donadoni spoke ahead of Parma’s match, calling for his players to not give up until the end of the season as well as praised their efforts amidst the club’s financial issues.

“We want to end the season with dignity,” Donadoni said in his pre-match press conference.

“With problems like Parma are experiencing, there isn’t much talk about the impact it has on the team and the fact that it deprives us of valuable energy.

“Cagliari will also be motivated as they have had their issues too, and we must keep showing the right spirit [like we have in past games] to match theirs.

“The future of the club is still uncertain. We are curious and sad about what might happen come the end of the season.

“For us however, what has been done on the field is what is most important. We had to deal with the [points] penalties, but the points we obtained were through sacrifice.”
