Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is confident about coach Sinisa Mihajlovic staying with the club next season.
Ferrero purchased Sampdoria following the 2013/2014 season following in Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ footsteps as a filmmaker turned football president, though Mihajlovic has been linked with a move to the Partenopei in the summer.
“You have to ask him [Mihajlovic] about his future,” Ferrero told Sky Sport Italia. “I think he will stay because he is in love with me.”
The enthusiastic president was then asked about Mario Balotelli’s situation at Liverpool.
“For me, if Balotelli goes to a club with a calm atmosphere and wonderful fans, he will recover,” suggesting that Sampdoria could be that club.
Sampdoria currently sit two points adrift of a European qualification spot with the their city rivals Genoa currently locking down the last qualification place with two matches left.
“We’ll make the Europa League, we earned it on the field,” Ferrero insisted.
