Cagliari coach Gianluca Festa was philosophical about his team’s situation after a 1-0 win over fellow stragglers Cesena, with both sides already relegated before today’s match.
An underwhelming encounter was surprisingly cagey with neither side able to create many good chances. However, with the game heading for a scoreless draw, Marco Sau struck to earn three consolation points for the Rossoblu.
Speaking to the Rai, Festa commented on the match and what the future holds for Cagliari and indeed himself.
“We didn’t get off to the best start, but as the game went on we were able to find the right structur,” he said.
“The goal finally came in the last minute though and we are very happy with what’s happened today.”
“We don’t have any regrets, we endeavoured to give everything we could.”
“My future? That’s up to [Cagliari president Tommaso] Giulini.”
