Fiorentina have been informed by Chelsea that they will have to fork out around €20 million if they wish to secure a permanent transfer for loanee Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian forward joined the Viola on a temporary deal on the final day of the January transfer window and has since went on to make an important impact in Florence, scoring six times in 14 games and making a vital contribution to the team’s run to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

La Nazione reports that Chelsea have set an asking price of between €16 and €18 million for Salah depending upon future performances, while Fiorentina would also be required to pay an addition €2 million in wages and bonuses to the player himself.

Another option being explored by president Diego Della Valle is to extend the 22-year-old’s loan for a further season at a cost of €1 million, before buying the player outright next summer.

This move would allow the Viola to utilise their current transfer budget strengthening other areas of their squad which require attention.

With coach Vincenzo Montella yet to commit his future to the club and as many as 10 first team players set to depart the Stadio Artemio Franchi next month, the Tuscan’s are gearing up for an extremely important transfer window which could shape their ambitions for several years to come.
