AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso believes that Juventus can beat Barcelona in the Champions League final with luck on their side and hopes that the Old Lady can bring the tournament trophy back to Italy.

The Bianconeri will be facing off with Barca in Berlin on June 6 for the prestigious title, which the Turin giants side have not won since the 1995-96 season, and the 37-year-old thinks that a victory for the Serie A side will benefit Italian football in a major way after a period of struggle in European competition in recent years.

Gattuso spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his hopes to see Juventus lift the Champions League trophy and commented on the comparisons made between him and young Juve midfielder Stefano Sturaro.

“I hope that Juve can win, but they will be facing a very strong opponent,” said the former midfielder, who won the Champions League twice during his time at AC Milan.

“With a little luck, something unexpected can happen. I hope that Juventus can bring the trophy back to Italy, it would benefit our movement.

“Sturaro? He play further up in the midfield than I did, he’s a player who looks to score more.

“He certainly has different characteristics than I did, he’s more technical than me. I’m more fierce in the defensive area.

“I see more of myself in [Roma midfielder Radja] Nainggolan.”
