Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin has committed to extending his contract with the club.

An extension had been rumoured to have been in the works for a while now, despite interest from numerous clubs in both the Europa League and Champions League, and now the stopper is reported to have formally committed his future to the Genoese side.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the 22-year-old’s contract with the Rossoblu will now have an expiry date of June 2019, representing a two year extension on his previous deal.

The Italy international has again impressed many this season, leading Genoa to the brink of qualification for continental competition, with one game of the season still remaining.

Perin has recently been linked to a cluster of top European sides, including league rivals Inter, in addition to Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund of England and Germany respectively.

The Genoa youth product made his national debut in November 2014, appearing as a substitute against Albania.
