Juanito Gomez was delighted after his injury time goal helped Hellas Verona to a 2-2 draw against Serie A champions Juventus.

The Gialloblu twice came from behind at the Stadio Bentegodi to finish the season on a positive note.

“It’s unbelivable,” Juanito told Sky Sport Italia, ”Today we wanted to redeem ourselves after the 10 goals conceaded in the last two games against Juventus and we managed to do this.”

With the evergreen Luca Toni scoring the first Verona goal, to edge ever closer to being top scorer in Serie A, Juanito revealed what a strong presence the 38-year-old has had on the squad

”We are all happy that Luca is a step closer to being top scorer in the league,” he continued. “He has great enthusiasm in training and with his experience he gives a hand to us all and passes on his knowledge.”

The Argentinian is yet to sign a new contract to stay at Verona and the 30-year-old is unclear on his future.

“The dream was to make it to Serie A, which I did thanks to Verona,” he said. “I feel good here but I am leaving it up to my agent to sort something out so we will see.”
