Real Madrid striker Javier Hernandez has insisted that the Spanish giants remain confident of reaching a second consecutive Champions League final, despite losing 2-1 against Juventus in the first leg of the semi final.

A goal from Cristiano Ronaldo was not enough to prevent a first leg loss against home side Juventus, who gained the lead twice through Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez, but Hernandez believes that the confidence of Los Blancos has not been decreased.

“There is confidence that we can overturn the match in the return fixture,” the on-loan Manchester United forward told SportMediaSet.

“I was glad to be called into action, although it was not enough to gain at least a draw.

“For now, we must think about the next round of La Liga against Valencia, and then can we focus on the return match against Juventus.”

Mexico international Hernandez was the hero for Real Madrid in the previous round of the competition, scoring an 88th minute winner against rivals Atletico Madrid, but was restricted to a substitute appearance for the first leg of the semi final.
