Inter midfielder Hernanes has revealed that coach Roberto Mancini has been a big help to the Biscione since he made his return in November.

The Nerazzurri have been able to find their form as of late and are currently unbeaten in their past six Serie A matches, leaving them just three points outside of the top five in the standings, and the 29-year-old admits that the tactician has done his best to motivate him and the rest of the team since his arrival.

Hernanes spoke to UOL Esporte about his relationship with Mancini and the coach’s positive effect on the club, while also commenting on his preferred role in the Inter squad.

“The arrival of Mancini? I had been injured and was not in the best condition,” said the Brazilian international.

“Then, after I was able to find my form again, he made me play. The team is experiencing a good time right now, we have had some good games lately.

“My relationship with Mancini? He doesn’t talk much, but he respects me. He always gives me words of encouragement, even when I wasn’t playing.

“My position? I’m doing well as an attacking midfielder and I hope I can continue like this.”
