Roma striker Victor Ibarbo is ignoring his own, and the Giallorossi’s, critics after a beating Genoa 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Colombian played 87 mintues as the Lupi claimed a second straight win to climb up the Serie A table into second place after rivals Lazio dropped points away to strugglers Atalanta.

“We [Roma] are not about personal revenge,” Ibarbo told Sky Sport Italia.

“[Seydou] Doumbia and I are coming back from injuries, so it was naturally going to take time; there is criticism at times but now we are helping the team and there is no bitterness on my part.

Indeed, it was strike-partner Doumbia who opened the scoring for the hosts on Sunday, with Ibarbo highlighting the Ivorian’s impact: “He is a great player, he can play and protect the ball and I hope he can continue scoring.

“[Alessandro] Florenzi is also strong and as a person he is excellent. I wish him a wonderful career.”
