handanovic interInter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is being touted as a possible target for Manchester United this summer.

Thirty-year-old Handanovic is currently holding talks for a new deal at the Nerazzurri, but a possible move to England could tempt him away from signing a contract.

The Slovenian international has only one year remaining on his contract at Inter, and could be the perfect replacement for David De Gea if the Spaniard was to unexpectedly leave for Real Madrid, report The Daily Mail.

The sale of Handanovic could pave the way for Roberto Mancini’s rebuilding of the club, with possible signings of Yaya Toure and Stevan Jovetic prime examples of the new resurgent Inter plan under Mancini.

Madrid are themselves also interested in taking Samir away from Italy, should they not land De Gea prior to the 2015/16 season.

It is likely the Inter goalkeeper would only leave if he was guaranteed a starting place at United, with current back-up Victor Valdes also being touted to take the place should his Spanish compatriot De Gea leave.
