AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi has reiterated his desire to continue on as the club’s tactician after a convincing 3-0 victory over Torino at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night.

With rumours swirling that the Rossoneri are looking to bring Carlo Ancelotti back to the San Siro if he is sacked by Real Madrid, Inzaghi once again stated that he will only leave his position if he is told to do so by the club.

“I have a contract. I am Milan’s coach, if I am not told otherwise than I am happy to continue,” he told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“If they give me time I am convinced I can bring Milan back to where they were in the past. There is an important core to work and restart with.

“The president’s words must be listened to, not commented. I was told to continue with my work. Tonight the squad did well. They gave me a great response despite the difficult season.

“Things aren’t that glum. Some signings are needed, but the base is there. Other great teams have also struggled this season.”

Stephan El Shaarawy left his mark on the match in his first start since returning from injury by scoring a brace, and Inzaghi believes things would have been different had injuries not hampered many of the Rossoneri’s players this season.

“It is the players who make the difference, as we saw today. The last four matches we’ve played well, now we are getting players back but the season is ending. That is the biggest regret of this season.

“I am very happy with these players because despite all of our difficulties I always believed I had control of the squad. Aside from the match with Udinese, this squad has always given what they have.”
