AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi insists that he will continue to give his all ahead of what could be his final match in charge against Atalanta at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia in Serie A on Saturday.

The Rossoneri have held talks with Carlo Ancelotti in the hope of convincing the sacked Real Madrid boss to return for a second spell after coaching the club from 2001 to 2009.

“The club warned me that they were going to speak with one of the best coaches in the world and someone that I am tied to by friendship,” the 41-year-old tactician said in his pre-match press conference.

“I still have a contract and if the club decides to make a change, I’ll be grateful to Milan, and I’ll continue elsewhere.

“I am a professional and I will continue to give my all until the end.

“After 10 months I understand the squad and the environment much better. I’m convinced this team can improve.

“Could I work with Ancelotti? He is a good friend of mine, and there’s no problem with him.

“But I’m very conscious of my ideas, my strengths and my work ethic. It is unthinkable for me to stay in another role because I am a coach.”
