Roma’s Juan Iturbe has revealed his delight after scoring in the Derby della Capitale against Lazio in what has been a difficult year for the Argentine.
The 21-year-old opened the scoring with his first goal since January against Lazio as the Giallorossi secured a crucial 2-1 win to secure second place and Iturbe was quick to admit he had been wanting to score for some time.
“I’m just so happy, I’ve been waiting for this goal for so long,” Iturbe told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’ve not had much luck this year and the goal came at the right time.
“This season I have had bad injuries, knee problems, not easy ones to recover from.
“I have always trained to do well, I have waited so long for this goal.”
Iturbe’s goal against Lazio was just his second in Serie A this season, with his previous league goal coming against Juventus in October 2014.
