Roma midfielder Seydou Keita says that former teammate Lionel Messi will have a big say on the outcome of the Champions League final between Barcelona and Juventus.

The 35-year-old Malian international played for the Catalan club between 2008-12, winning 14 trophies in the process, and predicts his former club to win easily if Messi is on form.

“If Messi is in good form, then Barcelona play with 12 [players] against 11, it all depends on him,” Keita told Mundo Deportivo.

“When the game begins, and the team sees that Messi is doing well, that brings confidence. It will not be an easy game, but if Leo’s fine, then Barca will win. Messi is the key.

“[Barcelona] can’t make errors in the box, because [Juventus] are at a strong level tactically and have tall players. They are very quick off the blocks.”
