Juraj Kucka was unable to hide his delight after Genoa’s last-gasp 3-2 win over Inter on Saturday evening.

The Grifone emerged victorious thanks to a late Kucka header and now move up to fifth place, one point ahead of Fiorentina who play on Sunday.

“It was a beautiful evening,” Kucka told Sky Sport Italia, “and my goal was even more beautiful.

“Tonight is perhaps the most important goal I have scored for Genoa.

“We have proven ourselves to be a strong group, but we still have an important game to play [against Sassuolo] so let’s see what happens.

“It would be a shame to miss out on Europe.”

The midfielder then paid tribute to the Genoa fans.

“In a stadium as beautiful as this, with great fans like ours, it is the most beautiful football I have ever seen here,” he continued.

“The atmosphere cannot be explained, it must be experienced to be understood. “
