Pioli - LazioLazio coach Stefano Pioli is proud of his players despite losing the Coppa Italia final to Juventus.

The Biancocelesti lost 2-1 to the Bianconeri on Wednesday night and the 49-year-old believed that Juve took their chances, whereas his side were unlucky when Filip Djordjevic hit both posts in extra time.

“It was a balanced game,” Pioli told Rai Sport. “We tried everything to win but you need luck and tonight we did not get it.

“We deserved another result for the performance on display and the value of the opponent. I am proud of my boys, although we played the final to win, losing is not good.

“Football is made of decisive moments [and] they were good at exploiting favourable situations.

“The team played with quality and courage. Now we have to get our energy back and we look forward in the league.”

Lazio remain on six Coppa Italia victories, having won their last title against Roma in 2013.
