Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti has said he will not blame refereeing decisions in the game against Inter just yet.

The Italian international got sent off in the Biancocelesti’s 2-1 loss at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night despite Mauro Icardi missing the resulting penalty, but Marchetti is not blaming the referee before he analyses the game.

“We won’t blame the referee before we look at things,” the 32-year-old told the press.

The hosts ended the game with nine men, when Brazilian defender Maurico was also shown a red card.

Two goals from Inter’s Hernanes cancelled out an Antonio Candreva opener, giving Roberto Mancini’s men three points, and making them climb up to seventh in the Serie A table.

Stefano Pioli’s Lazio, meanwhile, remain in third position and are still only a point off second place, despite losing, after rivals Roma were defeated 2-1 by AC Milan on Saturday evening.
