Liverpool make bid for Inter player

Kovacic - Inter v LazioLiverpool have reportedly held a preliminary meeting with Inter regarding the future of Mateo Kovacic where an initial offer was made.

The 21-year-old’s future is said to be uncertain with clubs including Barcelona also interested in his services.

According to Calciomercato.com, Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio had preliminary talks on Friday with three delegates from Liverpool, as well as Mateo Kovacic and his representatives.

The three parties were said to be holed up in the Palazzo Parigi hotel for a number of hours.

Meanwhile, the Express has said Liverpool tabled an €18 million offer for the player, though Inter are thought to be holding out for a fee closer to €25m for the Croatian.

Kovacic made 25 Serie A starts this season, and scored five goals.
